I just wanted to add to watch out for detangling/conditioning shampoos. They are great, IF you clarify! If you keep washing with them week-after-week, they will build up (since they don't clean as well) and the hair will get tangly and dead-like. Neutrogena Anti-Residue is a really good clarifier; Cream of Nature shampoo is a very gentle conditioning shampoo.
I always have to wash on the wig head it helps big time. and a detangling shampoo as well is key.. actually its b/c the cuticles are not aligned! is why it happens..

Hi Lequia; Sorry to hear about your tangling. I know that can be frustrating! I wonder if it's HoW you are washing it. Do you let the running water help detangle it during the process? I don't believe in swishing hair. Try to keep the hair going in the direction it sits on your head. Try an acid vingar or vinegar rinse after shampooing or after deep conditioning. Try to deep conditioner your unit every time you wash --- slather tons of conditioner on it, wrap it in foil and place in in a warm place or blast it with a blow dryer. Let it sit for a day if you can. Before you wash a curly unit, you should completely brush it out, working from the ends up, so it's completely detangled BEFORE you shampoo it. HTH!
