Thanks for the compliments on my hair. Actually that was a picture where I didn't do anything with my hair or make up, I was just chillin' with my birds.
I love my birds. I have two peac*cks. Here's some more pictures for your viewing entertainment. I also have a large peac*ck tattoo on my arm I got in tribute to my birds. I am soon going to get another peac*ck tattoo on my back.
Metalgirl, I can't believe you have domesticated a peacok!! This is so cool!
I love your hair on the pic!
Gobunnys.com is going to be my favorite bohyme supplier if it keeps such amazing prices and nice customer service!... the only thing is the color range is quite limited.
I just ordered some hair from gobunys.com because I found that it got a good review here. I ordered 8 ounces bohyme hand tied 22" and with shipping it cost me just under $300.
It was delivered within days. I ordered #2, which matches my natural color sort of (my hair is a tinge more redish brown), and #22, which I intend to color with Jerome Russell colors in turquiose and midnight blue. I chose those colors as a tribute to my peac*cks. I have two peac*cks that I have raised since they were 6 weeks old, and now they are two years old. Since I give them attention everyday, they are very tame. See the photo:
Thanks to Amm, I found this website: wwww.gobunnys.com
they have the cheapest bohyme handtied right now, in 22' length,
I would like to thank AMM and Frenchie for this info! I ordered 2 packs of 613 in 22" and only paid like $250.00! Also I measured the length and it came out to nearly 25"!!!!
The onyl problem was the LG I ordered was leaking. but no biggie, 'cause I am getting the new LG from Shrinkies.com soon!! ^_^
And I would like to congratulate JennyRR, I have NEVER been able to handle the PH w/o massive tangles! You must know your stuff!
Frenchie: Thanks! I have thin/fine hair up top so the more undetectable, the better. I've been curious about hand-tied for a while, as well as skin/seamless wefts, which I'll probably start a new thread about. I need to start experimenting more.
Luckie: Didn't make my appointment yet. Just emailed Isaac the other day, so waiting to hear back and crossing my fingers. I may need to go there for a consult before the actual appointment, just so I can go through some color rings and get Isaac's opinion. I'm very clueless when it comes to colors.
MetalGirl: My care routine is, like, nada. The less you do to PlastikHaar, the better it looks. So I never style it or apply any product. I wash it as little as I possibly can, and when I do, it's with lukewarm water (as cold as possible, really) and then air-dry only.
In the past, I used the Dome spray as a "detangler," and that's a good product, but I haven't found it necessary lately. At night, I sleep with it in a loose, scrunchied bun (I find this works better than a braid for me--less ridges.
It took me a while to get the hang of synthetic, as you may remember, because I was so used to HH. I would say the number-one key to keeping it looking good is washing as seldom as possible. I would think the clip-ins don't have to be washed much, correct?
What was your care routine with the plastik haar? I wore it a while back on clip ins, but I found it to be very fussy, getting frizzy easily. I want to give it another try.
did you make your appointment yet jenny?? i ask because Im going to see Isaac next month too : ) i think its awesome!! hehe. are you getting your hair in pinchbraids again or just dyed??!

I was wondering if you managed to get your hair back in shape after the bleaching disaster (hope I have the right person?!).
Nice to me you, fakeizme. Yeah, sadly, that was my hair, but it's gotten a lot better. I basically had to shave the whole thing, and now my hair's about 4 to 7 or 8 inches long (depending on the spot, I still get a lot of crown breakage from the bleach). :)
Jenny! I just wanted to say a big HELLO! And tell you that I so appreciate all the archived info. I discovered in your posts. You were a big contributor here. I have pretty much read all of the archived posts and learned so much from you. I was wondering if you managed to get your hair back in shape after the bleaching disaster (hope I have the right person?!).
You will look beautiful with that colour you posted; although you look good with your hair platinum as well! Good luck with it.
Thanks again for the warm welcome back! You're the greatest. :)
Mokipono: SuperElite, LOL. I've always learned a ton from all the knowledgable women here. Extensions are a long journey of trial and error, and one that's much easier and more enjoyable with others than going it alone--all the knowledge-sharing also leads to better results. :)
Sherrie: You're the best ever, and your installs are legendary. Just seeing what you were able to do really inspired me to do DIY, which I never would've done otherwise. Your results also inspired me to try wefts, which have been much more successful for me than strand methods.
MetalGirl: I missed you, too! And that's a good point about the Bohyme ashy colors. I could freak out if looks too red to me.... I'll definitely check them out.
As far as PlastikHaar, I still love it. It's the easiest hair in the world to maintain (as long as you don't wash it much). The only downside is the shine, which a little powder can help with (if anyone has any more tricks for shine-reduction, let me know).
Basically, I want to go with the human hair for the color switch because if the color's a little off, the extensions can be dyed and adjusted. Also, I have to place orders way in advance for PH (because I order from Sara and have to get special blends, wefts, etc.). And I usually order from her in major bulk.
So my plan is do wear human hair until I settle on a color I like (I may want to go darker, like light or medium brown) and then switch back to the PlastikHaar afterward. I've also been wearing 50mm (the loose wave), which is really a beautiful wave pattern, but I may want to go straight again so the human hair will allow me to experiment more.
The PlastikHaar has seriously spoiled me from a maintenance point of view. Human hair is always a lot more work for me. :)
If you want Bohyme, you may want to check out their ashy colors that www.superhairfactory.com offers. I just got the color ring, and there are some nice ashy colors. I am suggesting an ashy color since platinum is technically an ash color, and if you start wearing warmer colors you may think it's 'too red' ( I hear that in the salon sometimes from previous platinum hair people
Hope you stick around here for a while!
Why are you thinking of switching away from the Plastik Haar? I have been thinking of getting some PH weft myself again for a little variety in my colors. Are you buying them custom from Sara's European shop or Neko's Canadian shop?
