I'll bet when the Olympics are over and her need to feel aerodynamic is supplanted by a new need to feel feminine and mothering, she'll grow it out to her shoulders or so.

Most Tennis and golf pros don't have to spend hours a day in chlorine and stuff all of their hair in a small, tight cap. Yes, she has muscles and while the hair might not perfectly suite her features, I think she is beautiful and would look good in about any style.

Mike, I think it's partly Dara's muscularity that makes this cut flop. Muscles are a necessary part of this woman's extraordinary athletic build, accepted, but a softening with longer hair would help immensely. Most tennis and golf pros understand this today. Best, Bob

Oh boy if you guys didn't post the pics before with her and her name I was thinking she looked like a guy. I'm sorry but that video I just saw that was the first thing that poped into mine mind. I hope I won't get band for this post.

Remember the effect Dororthy Hammil in '76 and Mary Lou Retton in '84 had.
Both Dorothy and Mary Lou were fairly young so that style appealed to the younger generation. Dara is older so I doubt many teens, college age, or post college women will be going to match her style.
I could see however older women in their 30s and 40s going for that shorter cut from the Pob. I am sure I will get a few of my clients that will want something like that because of her.... but her popularity because of the olympics won't match Mary Lou or Dorothy and NOTHING like the Pob.

With 41 year old Dara Torres making the Olympic team will this send all the ladies to the barber chairs for short cuts?
Remember the effect Dororthy Hammil in '76 and Mary Lou Retton in '84 had. Lots and lots of hair hit the floor in an attempt to look like the Olympians.
