Her character in "Private Practice" had shorter hair in the last couple
of episodes. The haircut wasn't mentioned in the story
line. But the continuity is laughable. Her hair is slightly
longer in some scenes, shorter in others. In the first episode
with shorter hair, for scenes supposedly shot the same day (she
was wearing the same outfit), she had four slightly different
hair styles.
I also chuckle at the clothes and makeup. I assure you that
my family doctor (a lady) always is wearing a glamorous low-cut
cooktail dress , 5" spike heels, and full on evening makeup when I have
an appointment. The female stars generally look ready for
the red carpet instead of the practice of medicine!
Not sure if it's shorter, but looks more layered, and darker. Definitely styled better. If she styles it like this it almost doesn't seem like such a bad choice.

Kate was on Regis & Kelly today with her new 'do. No pictures but I bet you'll find some on ourdailyripa.com tomorrow.
First, it looked a lot better than the pictures posted on this thread, with more volume and some nicely-defined waves. Second, she talked about it a bit (have you ever noticed that Regis is unusually inquisitive about hairstyle changes?). She said she was ready to cut it, it required too much maintenance when long, so she got permission from Private Practice creator Shonda Rhimes (who apparently then cut hers short) and did it. She said she was pretty calm throughout, except when she saw episodes of PP from before the cut, and missed it for a moment.
I still don't love the cut, and still don't think it's an upgrade. Actually I'm wondering if this version of the pob at the longer length is becoming its own mini-trend, given Juliet Huddy's similar cut. But Kate clearly likes it, can still change its styling, and it's her hair, so, y'know, OK!
p.s. Kelly Ripa told Kate that when SHE gets a cut, even a trim, she always cries afterward. Is this the same woman who once claimed she LOVED chopping her hair off?

Still seems kinda drab, plain and pointless to me. I'm all for periodic style changes, but how is this on par with, or better than, her previous length and style?

This cut reminds me why one woman at TLHS used to refer to salons as "butch-hair shops". Yuck. This is so bad that it takes the focus off her pretty face. Bob
