o.k....in that case do the braids and cut a little of the straight ends off each time to take them out. Deep condition like your life depends on it and be gentle. When your hair gets long enough to style cut off the rest of the relaxed hair. Good luck!

Hi there. I think the best place to start is to decide if you are really going to transition or you just want to not perm your hair until the baby is born and then you get a relaxer. In both cases doing either cornrow braids or regular box braids (not micros) is your best bet. I transitioned 2 years ago. I did braids for about 6 months and then I did the BC. I have locks now that are neck length.

Are you planning to just go natural or are you thinking about doing dreads?

Im 5 months prego my last perm was at the first week of Sept I hear a lot of scary stories about black woman and perms who are pregnant (In their last trimester) and lose their hair to a perm b/c of the hormones or they get a perm afterwards and end up lookin like a KIWI . And I don't think I can pull off the tropical fruit look so since I've been dieing to transition (I keep starting and stopping) is this a good time I'm thinking about braids something other than micros I need to be realistic Im in school Ill have a baby in January. Maybe I should just play the lotto and everything will be alright but just in case that doesn't work gimme some advice.
