I don't watch her TV show (Pushing Daisies) regularly, but as I recall, she already had bangs for at least the last 18 months. The difference here seems to be that her hair is 1) medium brown instead of dark brown/black, and 2) straightened, instead of wavy/curly. And it looks like her bangs were trimmed, hinting that she's not intent on growing them out.
Personally, I like her wavy/curly/banged version her character wears on the show much better, but this is a nice variation for a night, which is all I'm guessing it is.

I think the bangs would look better if her hair was curly (her natural curl). Also, I think it would look better if she put her hair behind her back. With the new bangs and that picture, it looks like she is hiding from everyone. She is too pretty to hide behind her hair. Not saying to cut it off, but add texture around the face or get it out of her face....
