I used to use Aveda Brilliant conditioner, and my husband used to hate the scent. And it would linger on my hair for quite some time. Almost 24 hours if you aren't working out or going somewhere smoky, etc.
But how to get rid of the scent? Heheh You could finish with an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse, that'd do the trick. But seriously... maybe rinse a long time? Or use a finishing rinse that doesn't have so strong an odor?
But really, I think the guy should just put up with it. It's not like you're in close quarters anyhow.
I wonder how he knew that it was specifically your hair emitting such a powerful scent. From a distance (or even just across a table) it's hard to tell if someone's wearing leave-in conditioner or perfume. Perhaps he uses Aveda himself!

Wow. I love the scent of Aveda. Guess I can't really help with this one except maybe to suggest you ask the guy if the scent is bothersome or if he meant he liked the scent. Even when I don't wear it I like the Aveda scent on others.
I used the Aveda Shampure & Aveda Curessence products on my hair. Yesterday a guy at work said that he always knew that I had been somewhere in the building because he could "smell the aftermath of my hair". I don't know whether to be insulted or complimented but at the time I just said, OK. So is it possible that the products are leaving a lingering aroma that I am used to and might be too strong? How do I know? How do I eliminate the aroma/odor if it is too strong. Yes, I am a little freaked. Any help would be appreciated.
