Classic Hollywood Hairstyle

I have an upcoming wedding and my hair is pretty short at this moment so I decided to go for a starlet look, kind of old classic hollywood. I've been reading that in order to achieve this look (pin curls) I'd need to use pin clips, but I want to have my hair done professionally. Do I get my hair clipped the day before and let them sit in overnight? Or is there another way to get this look at by a stylist the day of? If anyone knows how this works, please let me know!
