Its a good idea that you do a strand test first to see the results of using the ion blonde brilliance. As another member above mentioned the colour may not grab onto the white hair, as there is no colour pigment for the colour to grab onto. You probably have to use filler (pre pigment) first by using a coloured mousse or a semi colour so that the ion colour has something to grab onto.
Do a strand test first with the ion colour first see the results.
I hope it all goes well.

i used a clairol box bleach which i've always had good luck with. my hair was two different shades of brown in the back and it lifted for the most part, but i didn't explain what i wanted very well. sorry. i actually don't want the white anymore. i'm shooting for a warm shade of blonde to cover up the white. i will have to use it all over. i think the ion blonde brilliance will cover it and maybe it will be a light gold. i will do a strand test this time to make sure it's what i want. i'm going for extensions in a couple of weeks and she told me to make sure the hair matched. i was just wondering if i was using the right color and peroxide to cover this white.

A gentle color shampoo or conditioner may be in order & lots of conditioning treatments. Do you have any pics of the back or anything you can share? Which bleach did you use... Usually pale yellow or yellow is the color to shoot for then Violet toner actually covers this & makes it appear white!

also there are still a few gold streaks in the back because it was previously chocolate brown. ( i had the two tone look) and just got tired of it. i wanted to go all one color again in a pale blonde. i don't want more damage, i just got some cut off thursday, so i don't know if the toner will cover the gold streaks or not. any help?

How a color deposits sometimes is specific to brand & manufacturers instructions... Some use 20 vol some use their own "activation lotion" which could be lower in volume than 20.
Which Brands are you using? Also did you bleach your hair to the Pale yellow stage & then tone or did you go Past the Pale yellow? (A NO NO)!

I'm a kitchen beautician (in other words, not a professional) so take my advice with a grain of salt. I think you probably need to apply protein filler to your highlights and then add the toner. Your hair is too porous to grab on to the toner if it's already white.

i've been bleaching out my hair for about a year now. i am really tired of the white color and want to go blonder. i tried putting toner on with a 10 vol. peroxide and it washed right out. am i doing something wrong? doesn't the 10 help to deposit color back on my hair. also, thinking of trying ion toner. any suggestions?
