I buy my wefts and I then cut them up into sections and sew the clips on myself i love doing this because there are no issues with the clips being not to my preference or the sizing! i buy all my stuff from a place called buyhair, online! its great
I agree with frenchie1. If you find that regular clip-in extensions are too thin, you should definitely consider buying a 4 oz bundle of weaving hair and the comb pins. You will get more hair than if you buy the clip-ins.

I'd recommend you do your own clip ins. You can buy the clips at a lot of online stores, and you could double or triple some bohyme handtied wefts, they are super thin.
If that is not satifying to you, I remember that Extensions Plus allows you to get custom hair, and you can ask for like double or triple density, of course you will pay for it, but it might less bulky for you.

Wait, when you say you double them, do you mean you put 2 wefts together or 2 sets of clip-ins together?
If you do put 2 sets of clip-ins in, then I understand the bulkiness. You ever think about making your own clip-ins? That's what I do, which is why I said previously that mine aren't bulky at all.

I haven't seen any heavy clip-in extensions; and i don't think they'd be useful (I have thick short hair and cannot wear extensions till it grows shoulder length for this reason) for these reasons:
More hair on clips means heavier extensions that will put more pressure to hair follices (sp?)
More hair is more likely to become frizzy (less hair= tidier hair)
More hair will disturb you more because it will feel bulkier.
I think that getting 2 sets of 8 piece clip-ins is the best solution; it will make you feel more comfortable.
