Hey everyone, what a great site!! Right, well here is my predicament!
I have been colouring my hair for years and years....i am naturally strawberry blonde but up until a month ago had been dyeing it jet black for ages. I had two highlight sessions with my 'dresser to start the process of going back blonde but my impatience and hatred of the gingery inbetween stage got the better of me and i bunged two packs of peroxide on ....boy was that a mistake!!
To cut a long story short i ruined my hair. it was frazzled and fried and i looked like a scarecrow and whats more it was still quite ginger!!
my 'dresser came round to my home and dyed it again just to get the ginger out as theres no way i could have gone out looking like that, lol. This obviously made it worse and i did lose quite a bit of hair. I had to have it cut quite short.
This all happened just over a month ago and it is significantly better as i have used Tigi, Joico & Matrix products to help the recovery process. I dont lose any hair anymore although it still frizzes up in the morning and i HAVE to straighten it which i know is damaging it more as im having to do it every single day :(
I have emailed various 'dressers in my area and they have all said that extensions would be fine but im confused over which method would be best for my damaged ,weak, fine hair as im reading different stuff about them on the web.
A couple have suggested i have a weave (corn row) sewn in but i have read that this is not suitable for caucasian ??
Another one suggested microlinks but then i read that they are not suitbale for thin/fine hair because the bonds will show.
I mainly want the extensions for volume as ive hardly any hair left and i want a bit of length....no longer than the top of my shoulders.
My hair is different lengths and different textures at the mo as some bits are more damaged than others.....my main concern would be the bonds or tracks showing when the wind blows as my natural hair is pretty flyaway anyway.
I also wanted to buy in my own hair if i go for the weave...... russian....but i havent a clue how to colour match it as my hair is two different shades.....
Sorry this has been so long but any advice greatly appreciated xx
