Recommended time for recovery

Hi all. I've been dyeing my hair for many years from black to blonde and in between. I'd like to give my hair a rest since it was becoming a little dry and brittle. So I dyed my hair back permanently to my natural color. Now, I'd like to know the recommended length to give my hair a full recovery before coloring/bleaching my hair again? My hair grows on average 3/4" to 1" a month. I plan to get a haircut plus trims to grow out the permanent color dye.
