I hear ya, but wouldn't that mean we'd have far fewer blondes?

She looks great in the picture you posted and the first one that I posted but she's getting help with extensions.  I just think that you ought to go with what God gave you and make the best of it.

OMG, that second photo startled me. I swear I thought it was Janine Turner if she was blonde. And I was no fan whatsoever of Janine Turner as a blonde, so I guess you know where I stand on Nancy O'Dell with short hair.

(Well, not the goofy blonde Janine was for awhile there, but if she looked like a regular blonde.)

But back to Nancy. I'm Facebook friends with Nancy and she seems like the real deal -- a real sweetheart, a class act, the total package. I'm not sure what she's doing next, but I hope it includes keeping her long hair -- or at least better looking extensions. You didn't exactly pick the best photo of Janine and her hair usually looks better than that. (I know there's probably some contradiction with me callin gher the "real deal" and admitting she has extensions.)

Put it this way, if Nancy O'Dell came on TV with that short style, I might not even notice her. With the long hair, she's got my attention from the time she hits the airways until the time the show goes off the air.

Here's Nancy's Facebook profile photo. Looks real to me -- and much younger than she does with the shorter hair:

A pic from a week ago

Maybe now, since she's left Access Hollywood, she'll do something different.  She could stand to lose a foot and the center part.  Found an old picture; have no idea from what timeframe

I like this look on her; it suits her generally thin hair better.

Great recap Durango.  I missed the show (I was traveling and forgot to set my DVR) but have been checking the pictures on WireImage and such.  No real standouts but I will say that Nancy O'Dell needs to cut her hair; it is way too thin to be that long.

Best  awards show going, IMO, and that includes the hair.  As Patricia Heaton put it, "It makes the Oscars look lame."   A few of the more noteworthy entrants:

Carrie Underwood--What is there to say but "Wow!"   (If you weren't counting, she had  nine costume changes, along with several different hair  styles.)

Taylor Swift was close behind in the "wow" department.   The curls flying around during her first performance were certainly eye-catching.  Her pinned up faux bob during the last half of the show was a great look for her.

Martina McBride had the biggest hair of the night.  Surely there have to be some extensions in there--no one has that much hair.  But she looked fab.

Miranda Lambert also looked great both up and down.  Ditto Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, who has grown her hair out after going short a couple of years ago.

Faith Hill has stayed with the medium length and light  blonde for a while now.     Her smooth long bob style was OK but seemed ordinary for an awards show, and I still think she looks better with a darker blonde color.

Kimberly Williams-Paisley usually looks great with long brunette curls, but I wasn't a fan of the pulled off the face look she had last night.

Hillary Scott (Lady Antebellum) was another star who wore her dark auburn  tresses both up and down,  looking great both ways.

I'm not sure about Kellie Pickler's dark red tresses (see Hawg's post), but the messy updo didn't do a lot for her.

LeeAnn Rimes has worn her hair long for a while now but can't seem to find a way to style it.   The simple pony tail just seemed out of place at an awards show.

Nicole Kidman looks much better after ditching the blonde tresses in favor of strawberry blonde.  But I'm still not crazy about the limp curls just hanging there.

Lee Ann Womack is another gal who rarely misses, and her casual medium length style was right on.

Reba McEntire was another miss IMO.  I like the longer length on her but not the sticking out every which way look.

I hadn't seenCaroline Bryan before (and I'm not sure who she is) but had to mention her because of her beautiful, long blonde curls.

Nancy O'Dell was too blonde, and the center part didn't do much for her.  Overall effect (especially with the dress) looked cheap.  In contrast, Whitney Duncan makes the long, highlighted blonde hair work with the loose waves.    Same length, though a little darker, and same basic style, but it just didn't work for Ashley Monroe, maybe because of the center part.

Barbara Mandrell's medium blonde teased pageboy just works for her.

Jessica Harp's long auburn curls looked as though she needs a healthy trim.

Jessica Aldean had a very simple but classy updo.  Less can be more!

Lots of photos from the show and the red carpet are on www.theboot.com.
