Yes this is indeed relatively important.

I liked the tutorial at latest-hairstyles about short bob hairstyles

This style features a sleek, smooth chin length bob, with a side swept fringe.

Suitable for:

Face shape: Oval, heart-shaped, diamond

Hair texture: Fine medium or coarse

Hair density: Fine to thick hair

Styling:

Maintenance: Medium

Time: 15-25 minutes

Techniques: Blow-dry, flat iron

Products: Volumizer for fine hair, smoothing lotion for thick hair and hairspray

Styling Steps:

1. Apply volumizer or smoothing lotion according to hair type.

2. Part hair just above arch of eyebrow.

3. Blow-dry hair approx. 90% dry.

4. Use a vent brush or paddle brush to smooth hair, keeping the nozzle of the blow-dryer directed downwards.

5. Apply a touch of smoothing lotion to tame fringe and ends.

6. Finish with hairspray.

Just make sure you get a ceramic ionic blow dryer. I have a whole lot of very naturally curly hair and the type of dryer I use doesn't matter to me. Technique is important.
