In my experience, although obviously  the better condition the hair is in before bleaching, the better chance it has of standing up to the process. However what is key to preventing bleach damage is the consistency and volume of mixture, the way it is applied and the time it is left to process - then of course, the quality of  the aftercare.
Bleaching = Damage, end of story; how much damage depends upon the above mentioned factors.  My hairdresser used a new brand of bleach which was supposed to be less harsh on the hair - but please - bleach is bleach.

What are some things you can do/ ingredients you can use to stop/lessen or prevent the damage from bleaching, dying and toning(toners) before bleaching, after(while?) How dangerous are toners?  What are certain ingredients to help stop/lessen or prevent the damage? Any all natural products?
What shouldnt you do?
