I think hair extensions according to the length depends on what type of hair you have and if due to hair loss you have thin hair then it will be better to get some extensions done which will not damage your natural hair.
I agree with what the ladies say. Be very careful if your hair is totally totally messed up, you might want to give it a rest for a while. Look at the lacefront wig forum section, what they are doing is incredible. I think clip ins can be a gentle option for you, although some women have witnessed damaged with this method too.
You are going to have to monitor your hair very closely. I recommend that you take pictures of your own natural, so it helps you see if there is a loss in length or thickness.
From my personal experience, keratin fusion, or microrings were a little more damaging than weft method. Tape is a gentle method if you want to go with a weft instead of fusion.
For fusion, the one method I heard is very gentle is Manemaxx. It uses a kind of wax that requires no chemical for removal.
I'd recommend to not put too much hair at first, and to not wear it too long, so it puts less pressure on your own hair.
You might want to look at 3/4 wigs also, since you have growth on top, or some kind of integration piece that lets you "use" some of your own hair mixed w/ the hair piece.
Avoid heat and condition like a maniac, coconut oil is a good weekly treatment. Use heat protectant if you're going to style.
I hope all this helps!

If you hair is weak already, I would advise you not to have any extensions put in it, any good professional would also advise the same thing. If you truely want long hair. I would suggest that you dye your hair brown, as the colour helps to keep hair shiny and in better condition. I would also advise you do a deep condidtioning treatment once a week. Always comb your hair when you have conditioner in. Also taking a supplement for hair, skin nails etc could also help. Look into what foods are good for hair growth. What you put inside your body really has an effect on the outside..! Hope this helps..! :-) Good Luck..!

Hi Thanks for the reply. A couple of days ago, we went around & I tried a couple of Synthetic wigs, & a couple of human hair wigs. I also sat down for a consultation for the micro-link extensions. I figure there are pro's & con's with every answer & I needed to make a decision that suited me the best.
The top of my head has grown out longer than what I thought an inch to be. 3.25 inches rather than 1. In seven months. My hair usually grows at double this pace. But far more logical than one inch. Anyhow,
I had thought about just getting some clip on pony tails from voguewigs.com there are a few there that I really like, & letting the hair grow out that way. But my appearance is pretty important to me when it comes to how ppl perceive you on that first initial meeting. I have some things coming up that are pretty important to me.
I have decided though to go with the extensions. I will do my best to care for them so they last & aren't too harsh with my *real hair*

Just about any extension method you choose might not be too healthy for your already damaged hair. If your hair is over processed, it has lost most (if not all) of it's elasticity so any style that consists of pulling or adding more weight to the hair can cause it to break off. At some point, you are going to have to decide when (not "if") you are going to cut off the dead ends.
Fortunately, your new growth is going to be stronger than your bleached ends so fusion might be your best bet when it comes to extensions. Wigs are also good alternatives because you can keep your hair protected from the elements and stresses of extensions to prevent further damage.

Hello, it's been just about 7 months since my last bleach job that took the toll on my hair , I have almost pixie short hairs throughout my scalp. Basically I am like someone with a comb over, I am trying to salvage all that I have left.
I have agoraphobia to a degree so it's not if though I leave my home anyways, but since trying to work that out, it does NOT help not feeling well about my outer appearance.
I have never been someone to look good with pixie to short hair, I don't have feminime (sp?) features at all. I have a very large nose & a weak chin on a long face.
My guess to why it's taken so long to grow is because I still have all this extremely damaged hair that needs to be cut off. I have been saving for hair extensions for the past 5-6 months, as I know at the rate it was going, I wouldn't have much hair for very long.
I HAD really long & thick hair. I don't want bonds, or a weave, I've read that micro beads would be the healthiest way to go, but I am worried my hair won't support it. I have had very bad luck with hair salons. Any place I go, have always told me they can do my hair, because they want to experiment is my guess, & I've walked out of places crying many times.
Any thoughts?
I may be getting a wig or two. Maybe until it grows a bit longer & stronger so that I can than have extensions..
Thank You for your time.
