Do these partial highlights look weird

I don't think it looks weird...It's kinda funky,but a lot of people are going for that edgy,different look these days.I like it on other people but probably wouldn't on myself.
Do whatever feels comfortable to you!

I have very dark brown dyed hair and was becoming sick of the boring, dark color and decided that I wanted to add some blonde highlights to my hair. I have super long, very thick and layered hair. My shortest layers are at the top of my hair and they reach down to my shoulders. I added the blonde highlights to the top of my hair only (just like a stylist would do when adding partial highlights) and now I'm not sure if it looks weird because of my layers. Basically now when you look at my hair from behind, I have a lot of blonde highlights at the top of my hair that reach down to my shoulders and then I have the dark brown hair underneath that goes down to half of my back. Do you think this looks weird and would I have been better off just adding full head highlights to my whole hair? Please be honest. Thank you.

PS. I found a picture that is most similar to my hair. The only differences are that my highlights aren't as chunky as her's and not as white. My highlights are also much longer than her's and the bottom of my hair is longer too.
