Perming Hair BEFORE Extensions?

Hi

I'm planning on getting hair extensions on the 11th of March, but I'm not going to my usual beautician to do it, I'm going to one I've never been to before but was recommended to by my usual beautician.

I plan on having this new cosmetologist braid in my hair, but I'm thinking about perming it a week before having the extensions put in because I'm afraid if I don't the hair will be so nappy and hard to work with I'll embarass myself terribly.  So my question is this:

Is it okay for me to perm my hair BEFORE getting hair extensions? And if so, how long is it allowed? A week before the process? Even a day?
