PS- Cut from the middle to the left or the right depending on which had you cut with. It`s easier than cutting straight across.

Always cut hair down the middle. That way it can be worn on either side with out one side being longer looking.
If her hair is thick or curly I would suggest cutting in sections. By this I mean clip up most of the hair, but leave down a one inch section ( 2 inches however much you feel comfortable) make sure each section is even before going to the next section.

Hi, my daughter really has never had her hair cut. I took a little snip once for her baby book. It needs a trim. Wet it is down to her waist. Her hair is straight. When I trim should I part it in the middle or leave it on the left side? How much would you suggest? Thank you

Wow, it seems like so long since I went through my first haircut. When you trim it I`d suggest leaving her part in the middle even if it is naturally a side part. I would suggest a few inches at least, depending on splits and general damage at the ends. But, not so much that it`s a traumatic expierience, if she needs 3 inches or more cut, take it slowly and do it maybe in 2 sittings so she dosn`t feel so trauma-ed by this expierience.

my part moves all over the place on a regular basis, so i part mine straight down the middle when it is cut then my part is usually more towards the right side....
