Why does the air really smell like hollidays?

I m in California, every year in the winter, from late November, I can smell the same specific smell in the air, just by make a deep breath when I m outside. It really smells like the odor of light perfume.
I dont smell this odor in other seasons though. It is not from any trees or flowers, because this desirable odor is just everywhere. Please be serious to ans my question, and happy hollidays to everyone :)
