Yeah I got 2 more boxes and used them and it worked pretty well but it still didn't take out as much as I've seen others do. But I figured with a little bit of black strands in it would make my hair look cool and well it did. I just colored my hair a deep red with the black that was left in it and it turned out pretty cool. But I'm going to just let it grow out now my hair grows pretty fast anyways so it shouldn't be to long. Maybe a year. Thanks for  your post!

You need more then one box, hair has to be saturated from root to end. I've used it and had success in removing black hair dye.

My experience and pictures with color remover on my black hair  http://www.colorzap.50megs.com/ . It works best if you can do it asap and not wait like 7 or 8 months like I did.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah my mom has used box dye for years to. She has a bunch of conditioning creams that came with it so I'm going to use those when I'm all done. I also got a conditioning treatment at Sallys today that was on sale. I just got done redoing the color zap again and it worked way better this time. I think because I wasn't so sparse with it but I do have a few spots where I didn't get as much as other places and I have a black ring at the top where I didn't put as much that I thought I did but oh well. I will just do it again to get rid of the ring and what's left closer to my head and the spots. It did turn a dark red which is kind of neat cause I'm going red, so it's a little bit of a sneak peak. I'm excited to finally dye my hair even if it will be a little longer than I thought it would be.

I used it on my moms hair (she has medium brown hair) she had used a box dye to cover gray and hated how dark it came out. This stuff made her hair look like a carrot and very dry. She was able to cover it up easy though. Are you trying to go lighter?? Also because your hair is long and thick it wasn't enough product in your hair that could be why it didn't work. I'd suggest you sleep with some conditioner in your hair and maybe some hot oil treatments,. When your hair is not feeling dry anymore try bleach or uncolor (not sure if it's for professionals only but it works great) sold at sallys. Good Luck!!!

Has anyone tried Loreal Color Zap? I tried it and I left it in for an hour or so and it didn't do anything. Angry I had only gotten one box though and it definitely was not enough to cover my long thick hair and it just seemed like the product dried so fast it didn't have time to do anything. I wanted to get some feedback about others experiences or if you know anyone elses experience with it.
