I would go back to the salon and tell them how fast it washed out!! For $80 that's not worth it!! If they are unwilling to fix it for free I don't see why you couldn't just fix the burgundy on your own. You may have to foil it in or have a friend help you. because she bleached it then added color sometimes the color does stick to the hair well in a semi actually might stick better and don't wash your hair for a few days to let it settle in there. Good luck!

Hi everyone I am new to the board and in desperate need of some advice.

About 3 weeks ago I decided to dye my brown red hair (from sun lightening) black because my roots were growing out and it looked bad because my hair was so much lighter.  I used a box dye and it turned out fine but I decided I wanted to have burgundy peek a boo highlights to make it more interesting.

So I went to a hair salon and explained that I had boxed dyed it a few days before and they said they could bleach the areas I wanted colored out and then dye the red over it.  It looked good for about a week, then turned copper, and now I have half copper and the area under my bangs are orange.

Is there a way to fix this myself like dye a red or brown over my whole head or color the pieces burgundy again?  Can I even get a burgundy color over orange?

I'm a tad bit aggravated about this whole situation because I paid $80 (after they quoted me $35 for 6 streaks and put 8 instead and gave made me pay $80) for this to be done and it lasted a week and I look like a mess.  I had even mentioned to her that if I wasn't in college I would have put the streaks pink and she stated that "oh, pink fads fast it is better that you are getting a dark color like burgundy since it wont do that".  I rather not go back to that place to have it fixed.

Any advice would be appreciated!!  Thanks.  Smile
