here's a big hug for you ::HHHHUG:::

The same thing happened to me, only in college. It became a compulsive habit. I had a huge bald spot on my crown that I had to literally "comb over" by parting my hair a different way. Lately I've stopped, don't know why, maybe from finding better ways to relieve stress (e.g. my meditation). And I was nurturing thoughts of growing out my hair. I found more productive things to do with my hands, especially since I'm a writer. I wrote a tremendous amount of fiction that year because my restless fingers needed something to do. My bald patch was the most trauma I'd ever dealt with in a long time... I suppose that contributed the most.

This kind of sudden halt in trichotillomania doesn't happen for everyone. In my family, it's just that easy to quit pulling, or even smoking. You may need more help than willpower. If you think you have a serious case then I strongly suggest you get help from a professional.

Yes, your hair will eventually grow back. It will take maybe years, but it will start with thin soft hairs, then grow thicker and fuller. My bald spot is gone now (it's been about a year and a half since I stopped pulling) and I've grown out my hair to mid back. Recovery is possible.

Take vitamins, eat right. but GET HELP ASAP!

Best of luck,
Anais
