QuoteReplyTopic: Vanessa Hudgens'"Jaw-Dropping" Makeove" Posted: August 31 2011 at 1:16pm
If you’re braver than me and have been thinking about sporting a short do, Teen Vogue got the scoop from Jamal Hammadi, the man responsible for styling Vanessa Hudgens‘ newly-shorn locks to share a few tips on how to do the short do.
Jamal: “When Vanessa came to me, she’d chopped off her own hair for a movie. So I first transformed her haircut by removing the weight from the sides, creating more texture and movement and opening up her face. I needed to make the texture look natural, chic and effortless with texture.”
Not enough face, Hawg. I still think that she looks 10 years older now. This is a BAD short haircut for a beautiful YOUNG woman. She has no wrinkles to hide. Bob

Well, another cut, another comment. I didn't expect this. Yes, it does look better I still think that it was a beauty blunder to have ever cut it. I would never notice this woman's hair in RL now. Three-month pixie grow-out cuts are not my favorites. Bob
I agree with half of that sentence. Improved? Yes....Much? Imo, thats a push.
I think longer, in her case is way better. However, if this is to be, I wish she'd lop off the back, and bring the sides in tighter. Hopefully, after the movie wraps, she'll cut it shorter.
This will be my final comment on her, I swear. If I saw those photos in a magazine, I wouldn't recognize her, and I'd think "40". She should have cut a wig for her role, really.

on an unrelated note...i don't get the neck tattoos on these girls today? I've got two tats myself, so i'm not a tattoo hater. I just don't get the allure of the back of the neck. I'd take a neck tat over a boob tat anyday though! Hate those!

Imo, hideous. I actually prefer it from the on set pics, where she's playing homeless, than in the 2 appearances where it's "done". Her face is too opened up when it's pushed back. Some face shapes are not intended to be "opened up", but rather, should be properly framed. For me, hers is one of those faces.

“In the beginning my character cuts her hair and we were cutting it and it didn’t look like I was cutting it myself, so I grabbed the scissors and started cutting my actual hair.”
She cut it herself with scissors on camera for a role. When she's done filming I assume she'll have it trimmed to something much more attractive. Can't really judge until then.

It seems to me that the reason she cut her hair was to up her acting credibility, that is, to make a sacrifice for a role (not that i think she actually will get any credibility for that). I agree with Arch, the cut isn't much to look at, so I hope it grows into something more interesting/attractive.

Though I rarely agree with bob...this is a hack job! I do love that she was brave enough to cut it off, and I bet she'd look amazing with the proper short style. However, this looks like a 2nd grader was let loose with scissors on her head.
Personally I hope she does in fact have it transformed into something cuter after this role is over. I'm sure she'll be back in extensions before we know it!
My two cents.
