Need Help with Hair Color

 

Okay, I have been dying my hair black for at least 3-4 years now, I have decided I want a light brown with highlights (primary goal). I went to Sally Beauty prepared to buy a color remover first and the girl told me to buy bleach and to use a 40 developer (I had my doubts on the 40).

 

Went home did the bleach on one side and realized I didn't have enough, so rinsed out immediatley and only experienced a small amount of lightening on that side, but I decided I didn't want to use 40 developer when I continue.

 

Next day I buy 2 Packets of bleach and I use a 30 developer I left it on for the full amount of time. So now hair is orange which I expected. I then condition, and then put on a protein filler.

 

Now I color it with a dark ash blonde (ion from sally). I thought ash took out red tones, or so I was told.

 

Now my hair in some spots is a washed out red, and in other spots is blonde, and in some spots is dark brownish.

 

So now that I have went wrong, what should I do. How do I get rid of the red, and get a brown?

 

Sorry this is so long, I just wanted to say exactly everything I have done.
