Haircolor help...bleached to brown

I had bleach blonde almost platinum hair for over a year. A couple of days ago I went to the hairdresser to have my hair dyed back to dark brown. She put an orange-ish color on first then put dark brown right on top of that. may hair was washed and then the dark brown was put on again. The color is pretty but its too red for me. I HATE red hair on me. I've washed it once and its faded. My question is can I put a boxed dark brown color on my hair? I dont want to danage my hair too badly but i really don't like the color that it is right now.
