If you go back and look at old pictures, you can periodically find photos taken right after she's had a root touch-up. And, bizarrely, it always appears overprocessed so that her roots are lighter than the rest of her hair.
Either that, or she's gone completely gray under the blonde...

Works for me! Very retro and classy. A really nice fit for the dress, the lipstick and the special occasion. I wouldn't mind seeing some other celebs ditching their awards-show ponytails for this.
Looks like the roots were touched up with the wrong color, but I can overlook that.
