Here's a couple pics for you with bangs and long layers but still long enough where it won't feel like a huge change but will look like one. Add a few highlights and you will be gorgeous.
Thank you all for your replies!! I truly appreciate your opinions. Of course, in the end, I am going to go with what will make me happy, but input helps with the decision making!
I didn't make it into the salon today, but I'm definitely going tomorrow. I think adding bangs is a wonderful idea, as well as going shorter, a little past the shoulders.
The link to the one girl's cut did not work, so I searched and found a picture that came up for 'long layers', which was this (http://www.alternativelook.co.uk/WebImages/Thumbs/amore-brandi.jpg). Is that 'long layers'? I'm sure the stylist would understand, but I'm just curious what it looks like. Thanks again!!

I guess I'm too late, but your current style dropped my jaw to the floor. Seeing hair long and velvety such as yours always brightens my day. Magnificent!!! Trim as little as possible, please! (lol) Bob

I think you should get 3 inches cut off, add long layers and side sweep bangs. DO NOT cut your hair to your collar bone. If you really do want it short, take time, get 3 inches cut off this time, if that's not short enought, get 3 more cut off 6 weeks from now and so on. I'm just afraid if you make that drastic of a change that quick, you'll regret it.
Well, I'm going to get my hair cut tomorrow. Right now it's really long, and I plan to keep some length. I have it layered in the front so its shortest in the front, but I want something a little more. I was thinking of getting more layers. I'm not sure how I would like it, though. Any input?
I think your long hair makes your face look longer than it really is. IMO shorter with layers will make your hair fuller and shorten your face... I personally think the collar bone length is a great idea... I also think moving your part to the siding adding long bangs and long layers would make a fantastic new look for you.... A style simular to the one a former long hair girl like you got this summer would look great on you... follow this link to her post and pictures
I think you would look good with bangs. Layering will make your hair appear thinner. If you have long hair and want to keep it long, you may not like the layered look because it may thin your ends out quite a bit. Just my opinion, please do what you think will make you most happy.

Dave did you say cut her hair to collar bone length are you CRAZY!!! Lissy please do not listen to Dave because you would lose allot of length and Lissy you said in your message that you would like keep some length, instead try some more layering but not too much and take off some length maybe 3" or 4" not collar bone length
