Alcatraz star Sarah Jones

I watched every episode of Alcatraz and to me Sarah's hairstyle was about half the show. It wasn't just short. It was a very cool cut that tapered longer toward the front. It perfectly suited her reasonably feminine but action-oriented character. I'm sure the hairstyle will go away with the series now, which is unfortunate. I hope her next look is as cool as that one was. I'll certainly be watching whatever she does next.

Alcatraz has been cancelled, but Sarah has an even shorter haircut at Wondercon.

I've been in LA for a long time and know how TV operates. TV producers decide on a character's look. it's fairly typical for producers to have an actress playing a serious female character cut her hair short. The Law and Order franchise did this with a few actresses.

If it's any consolation, Jorge Garcia's hair on this show is likely also how producers want it.

Anyone who watched "Big Love" will remember Ben's girlfriend Brynn who just couldn't get with "the principle."



Until recently Sarah was sporting a shoulder length cut.



For Alcatraz, she plays a cop and we know she's a tough cop who can take on the guys because she has short hair now.



I suppose this haircut is supposed to neuter her, make her unsexy, because we'll believe she's a cop and not a pretty face.



The problem is she rocks this haircut and any man who likes short hair even a little probably thought she was hot on the show last Monday.
