It is unlikely that perming your hair will make it fall out, unless you're actually burning the scalp with the chemical solution. So how does your scalp feel after a perm? A little irritated, but it goes away in a day or two? That should be ok. Second and third degree chemical burns? Bad.

How's the condition of your hair? If your hair is still in acceptable condition after all this time, there's no reason to change your routine. Some people have their hair damaged by perms, in which case it might break and fall off, but it would grow back normal and healthy.
