Man, you got to take care of that big mole growing all over your face.
Other than that - it doesn't look very messy to me. Did you go in the opposite direction of your normal hair growth. You might also have to use a blow dryer to direct it.
I would randomly dry my hair, after the gel, with the blow dryer and then go back with a little gel on my fingertips and pull/shape pieces to get the messy, spikey look.

This is my first attempt at "the messy look" and um, I'm not too sure if it's going to jive, or if i need a better technique.... yea its messy allright, i slap in a little gel and run my finger through it in random directions and let it fall which ever way it wants... i just get the feeling i missed a step or something, it just doesn't seem to look right at all...scraggley and loose hairs every which way... maybe i just gotta get used to it or something...

just looking for some honest and constructive ideas or opinions on the look.......
