I'm looking forward to seeing the finished (for now) product...she could rock the shoulder length cut with the same shaved nape or even more of an undercut, she down for that.  It would allow you to play as much as you want but still hide it if she wants.

As much as I love short hair...I think it'd be interesting to see her keep growing it out and playing with the undercut and ombre...even doing some other colors or dipping the tips with some blue or pink.

I think it's great! It's nice to have extra fun with it while she slowly goes short again and it looks good too. Plus who knows, maybe she'll like it so much that she lets you buzz more off the back and she'll end up with a bob with it mostly buzzed in the back
