Sounds to me like you did a pretty good job of describing what you want but a picture would be best.

My hair is still on the grow, but I am in need of a trim/freshen up.
Every stylist I have ever gone to tends to cut my hair into more of a rounded shape.  So is it possible to get a more blunt bottom bob or straighter looking edge with wavy hair?  I am looking for that long bob length with a clean, straight edge.  I wear it straight sometimes and wavy most often.  I do not have bangs, and I do have some light layering in the last 1-2.5" of length.
 
And suggestions or advice re: the same and how to describe this look?
