Well, unlike most people here I quite like dark roots in a blonde (let's me know where she's coming from, so to speak!) so the first picture is good from my point of view. As for making a comparison, I don't think anyone could seriously prefer the second look to the first--though for an entertainer it's an attention grabber and good for a wild night out.

With her hair down like the first post, you don't see the shaved portion. I wonder how much it's grown out.

If you have other images of her hair that you prefer, please share.  She recently has become a new topic of hair interest for me (yes, I'm late to the party) and I am curious what you all think about her hair evolutions and transitions. 

Without make-up and crazy hair she actually looks pretty IMHO.

Ke$ha getting ready to record new video - back to pure platinum blonde?

In this photo taken from the Perez Hilton website from 9-27-12 she was caught reporting for her next video for her latest album due out in December of 2012.

She appears to have all one color of platinum blonde hair and it looks long.  Do you like her without all the colors and as just a platinum blonde?  Or do you prefer her with hair that is all amped up and in wild colors?
