Biff,

From what I`ve heard from the medical students I know, getting into medical school is a lot harder than the actual medical school curriculum. I guess a lot of the course material is a review of what has been addressed at the undergraduate level, for those who studied a similar program before medical school, only with more facts to memorize and a lot more social (that is, patient-based) components. Medical students probably need to know a broader base of information, but one would be completely self-inflating by arguing that the allopathic medical education is any more challenging or "better" than other forms of medicine. Sure, in a way, the challenge has stronger consequences, because you`re more often dealing with life and death situations than a chiropractor, but it`s just as hard to master chiropathy or other non-traditional medicine techniques as it is to memorize what drugs to administer, and when.

Lina,
We`ve been looking to improve neonatal outcomes, and are now starting to address perinatal issues and interventions. A popular subject of perinatal research is toxicology screening.

Chiropractic students who attend Life Chiropractic College study more "medicine" (number of hours in certain areas) than medical doctors. Next time I visit my chiro, I`ll try to remember to ask about the course-hours breakdown. (He had it posted on the wall of his office, comparing chiro students and med students. It was very interesting.)

Just pure curiousity here, what are you researching?

1. Diane, I did not say that a chiropractor, dentist, or homeopath was a "medical doctor". I said that they worked in the "medical field", the same monoker that you like to tote around continuously.

2. Diane, yes, I am familiar with the Canadian system of education. Last I looked, I was a product of it.

3. Biff, Bravo!

Poor Diane. *6* responses to my one letter. You must be truly desperate for my attentions, as you chase me, harping for my attention. I guess negative reinforcement is better than no reinforcement at all? Flatter yourself as you see fit. Your ego must be in sad shape.

So where is your split-personality/alter-ego "Wolfgang"? Why did you feel the need to post under two names? I didn`t. You`re free to ask Karen to check the IP addresses. Yes, there are actually two people who frequent the board who are willing to point out the errors of your "debate" style. You`re all over the place, and continue to make wild allegations and launch personal attacks. You`re the one who twists things around.

So, your friend broke into her beau`s house and snooped around and didn`t like what she found? Maybe he was going to wait for a properly safe time, when he could trust her enough to open up and reveal his true feelings. Given the fetish-bigotry you expound, he must have understood how volatile some people could be. He must have felt vulnerable. Rightly so, given her reaction. She proved herself untrustworthy by snooping. Serves her right. That you support snooping reveals your own true character, too.
My friends know about my fetish. They know I`m a sweet wonderful guy in real life, and I would never harm or threaten another person. The women I"ve dated have been fine with it. In fact, they`ve really enjoyed the added attention and affection. They know that it isn`t only about hair. That`s just a bonus for them. You`re the only person I know who freaks out at the idea.

You should accept that life is not black and white, Diane.

Biff do you watch the dating show? Can you imagine meeting this beautiful woman for the very first time and the whole evening goes smoothly talking about things. All of sudden she might ask you what is your fantasy and you might answer that you don`t have a fantasy but a fetish. How much do you bet that date would cool off quickly?
People easily accept fantasies because it hold a special meaning but as soon as the word fetish comes out watch out. It holds a very negative meaning.
I personally know of someone that is very sweet and was always talking about this guy. She was so convince that they were perfect for each other eventhough it was only three months. ONe day she went into his apartment and found a baby suit that he has to wear. She was so discourage, heart broken that the relationship broke up immediately. None of us told her to do this but we all knew that it wouldn`t work.
How can it when the other person is not important but the object is.
I think that people at times use the fetish word wrongly and really mean fantasies. If only they actually sat down and think if they are or not. YOu are or you are not. Pretty simple to figure out.

Had to answer Biff`s question about personality because he won`t do his homework. He wanted to know my views about personality and believe in this as many does.

Freudian Theory
Freud`s theory states that personality is made up of three parts.

id
-unconscious instincts present at birth and thereafter
-basic drives of pleasure and gratification, regardless of reality, exists in us all the time

ego
-true self
-evaluates and assesses reality and controls the id

super ego
-internal conscious and moral part
-established by parental and social discipline
-guilt feelings arise from the super ego when our thoughts do not conform to the standards of our super ego

Freud believed that psychological disorders occurs when conflict arises between two or more of the above.
Human develop "defense mechanisms"( denial for example) that are employed to ward off the conflicts of our different parts of the personalities.

Official defination of sexual disorders and all its classes in the medical field.
Considered a sexual disorder when arousal can only be attained through unusual acts or fantasies.
1) exhitionism
2) fetishism
3)transvestic fetishism
4)necrophilia
5)beastiality
6)voyeurism
7) pedophilia
8)masochism
9)sadism

Now I am off. I would certainly hope that you Biff don`t take pride in being into fetishism and announced it to your co-workers or your dates as most people would run or reacte very strongly.

and before you try this splitpersonality thing again I will must remind you that YOu need to accept my education as it is based on my country and laws that governs them. I mean the medical laws which are diffiernt than the country laws. You will also have to accept that I am not into fetishes and by bullying me you will not change me. I do not want to associate myself with your thoughts and you will have to accept this. I follow the bible and you will have to accept this.
Hopefully you are happy the way you are. I strongly suspect you are not because this topic according to you disturbed you. If you were so convince that your fetish is nothing, my words or anyone elses words would have been water on your back like a duck. IN fact you wouldn`t have chase me for a discussion and announce that you have read every topic I wrote.
YOu wouldn`t have had a need to do this split personality thing nor insult anyone. I have often said sorry to your feelings but you have ignore me many times. Very typical on your part. I didn`t have to try to reach you as I didn`t come chasing you nor open up the discussion. If you are not comfortable with your fetish you can easily get help. I am not saying go because I don`t care. They often say when someone in pain like you have portrayed with your words and attitude that person is asking for help. I don`t want to help you. YOu are not respectful. Ask your family.
You see right now you have sadly proven my point that a person that has a fetish like yours to your extent cannot accept no from another person. YOu are trying to be controlling when I never tried to change your mind about your thoughts but you have tried to controll everything I was taught plus more. The fact that I will not accept your fetish thoughts for myself nor go against my education drives you widly beyond belief.

Go ahead and insult as this is my very last message because talking my dogs is way more rewarding then trying to conduct any type of conversation with you.

Well Biff Canada is known to have the best education in the world because we follow and are extremely disipline in the British ways. I am please to say I graduated with honors. Those rules apply to doctors , nurses and others.

I am extremely surprise that you don`t know our medical practice acts and the laws that governs them. According to the act states that a medical doctor that is in the position of perscribing many different medication is considered a medical doctor and for this reason dentist , chiropractor, etc and any other doctor that only goes in the herbel ways are not considered a medical doctor by their laws eventhought they are called doctors like your buddy the psychologist and spent as many years studying as the medical doctor. That is also the reason why some are not even allowed to practice in hospitals and start their own private practices. That is why so many doctors that come to our country find themselves going back to studies or discourage.
YOu should also been aware that a psychologist and a psychiatrist ( being the medical doctor) do not follow the same techniques nor believe in the same exact thoughts. Their training is a bit different. Even themselves have debates over such matters.
You might want to study Feud views as many views still hold and some are debated and change. But lets see Biff ( seeing that you came back as yourself) might not want to ask a psychiatrist about your obsession with long hair women or any fetish. lol I am proud that at least you did some research. Maybe there is hope. Lots of hugs.

BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA

Sorry to burst your bubble, Diane - Lina is not me. After Wolfgang`s last post, I just had to give it up. He made it clear that his negative predisposition towards anything I had to write was similar to mine towards you, and that nothing would be gained from continuing. But, since you brought me back into the discussion...

Lina is my new hero. :-)

Diane, you never claimed to be anti-fetish or anti-haircutting? Your postings make it clear. It wasn`t an accusation, it was an observation, but I can see how it could be perceived as an attack. Thus, the whole tone of the thread was negatively set. Ah well.
I never said anything about your not having a heart. However I did object to when you said you had "empathy" for a fetishist. That`s the wrong word. You may have sympathy, you may have pity. You do _not_ have empathy.
Also, I haven`t attacked "everyone" - just you. >;-) I did and do challenge your statements.

And you did call it a "mental disease" repeatedly, not a "disorder." (And, according to a psychologist friend of mine, she states that: "Fetish stuff used to be clasified as a mental disorder, but they have since removed it as a disorder. I don`t know if there is a "root cause". Seems that some folks are just born kinky and others not. Some folks may wind up eroticizing a particular activity or situation due to some kind of early childhood experience though.")
That jives with the definition of "paraphilia" that I had posted earlier.

To Lina, yes I did say I work in the medical field. I`m in healthcare research. I don`t claim to be a doctor or nurse or medical practitioner, just showing that there can be a wide definition that can be applied to "working in the medical field."
And Lina did attempt to express what I had attempted to express: that "fetish" comes in many shades and degrees.

Lastly, chiropractors ARE in the medical field, thank you - they have done more to improve my bad back than any M.D. A chiropractor realigns the spine. A "doctor" would only commit surgery. A long-term homeopathic solution works better for me than an invasive procedure.

So, Diane - be pissed off if you want to be. You have yet to offer any proof or text or sources that refute any of the things by which we`ve refuted your statements.
My suspicion is that you may well have had some basic psych classes (all colleges have Psych 101), but that your knowledge is dated. How long ago was your "medical training?"

Well the thing is Biff it will be a very cold day when I get a lesson in humility when it comes to a person like yourself who spends his time surfing the internet in search of long hair women to pester. YOu probably downloads pictures and have your kicks.

Spend lots of time censuring the internet for my children against nuts like you. You are rude, and have no backbone especially when you can`t stick to one name. Don`t even expert people like me who study the bible approve of your crap.

You never said that you were an expert.
No, but when you state "I should know, I work in the medical field" that`s pretty much the same idea in different words.

I like that you still think the conversation has anything to do with your opinion on fetishes. Really, it doesn`t. My point of continuity at this point is that if you intend to participate in a argumental discussion, please learn some applicable debating skills. "Your new career choice homeopath" is the sort of ridiculous approach to debating that invalidates any of your irrelevant remarks.

But please, disregard that I even bothered to reply. I wouldn`t want to ruin your opportunity to have the last word, because you, miss, are clearly the expert, and I am obviously some inferior chimney sweep type.

Once again, I will criticize your lack of humility. "Medical Field" is a broad term used to define any profession in relevance to health. Homeopathy, chiropathy, and physical therapy are all considered to be forms of medicine. Have you heard of the term "homeopathic MEDICINE"? But no, I am not a homeopath, despite your childish declaration that if I defend something, regardless of whether I believe in it or not, than I must clearly be one of those. This is the only aspect of your behaviour that would prevent me from laughing if you claimed to be a doctor. The sort of snobbery that can only be found in those who feel they play a significally more relevant role than those around them. The sort who make Medical Field a holy ground that can only be tred by those supremely superior to those surrounding them. You don`t feel you act this way? Look back and your posting and tell me that.

The funny thing is, I have tried to be polite with you. I have said things jokingly, or kindly and you have taken horribe offence to them and claimed superiority. You can credit medical texts from whichever medical classes you took (undergraduate even?) but my real problem with you has nothing to do with your supposed knowledge (laughable at that), but with your attitude. Yes, I attack. Why? Because you continually make absolute claims that are clearly wrong, and then deny having expressed such a thing! Once again, I will say, because you clearly did not notice the major theme of my last posting, that if you want to back up your argument based on your occupation, then you absolutely should be able to prove this. Otherwise, don`t mention it. Simple as that. My other major distress with you, Diane, is your self-determined superiority. And maybe the problem is that you don`t even realize its presence. But look at some of the remarks you have made: i) that someone must clearly be lusting after you because he remembered your name ii) that you should ignore someone because you didn`t like his argument iii) that you were clearly more intelligent than me and / or Biff (depending on who exactly that supposed-single identity message was directed to) iv) that any medicine besides allopathy is NOT real medicine (define medicine, please) v) that Biff probably "swept the floors in the medical field".

I really did not want to respond to you, Diane, because I know you want to have the last remark (hence your constant reference to the discussion being over, yet you still need to defend your argument) but I just want you to understand that I don`t care what you think you know about medicine; what I care about is that you get a lesson in humility.

homeopath, or other health practitioner (dentist, chiropractor, etc)

Well you can rule out Dentist, chiropractor , pyschologist nor your new career choice homeopath because they are not in the medical field and for the record I took offense when Biff said something against receptionist. He claimed that he works in the medical field and he talks like that. I know a lot of medical receptionist that are capable , loving and work very hard. It is non of your business what I do for a living. I never said I was an expert. I only shared what I learned in the medical classes. Maybe your next message should be polite as you will certainly respond.

You might notice that this web site is more family oriented and fashion. Has nothing to do with fulfulling fetishes.
I enjoy buying barrettes, planning for my wedding etc and have no intentions of getting into anything with you.

It is pretty sad when someone can`t even ask a question that wasn`t related to opening the fetish subject. I cannot relate to your type of feelings or thoughts and I seriously don`t want to. I don`t want to hurt your feelings and I really wish you wouldn`t hurt mine. I never deserve this.

I never wanted to get into this discussion of fetish so why bother me. I never opened the discussion nor plan to discuss it. Plus I am not the only one that said the exactly same thing yet it is Diane this and Diane that. Man do I have lots of power over your mind. Get over it and move on already.
I never pushed my personal opinions neither. To this day you still don`t know my personal opinions about fetishes and you will never will. It is not my place to have an opinion about the subject. I never went out my way to insult anyone neither but I see you are very comfortable doing it.
I don`t understand why you don`t start a fetish web site so all your friends can communicate and understand each other. Personally I find you spoiling everyone`s fun.

1. If this topic is closed, Diane, then why are you so adamantly obsessed with having the last word?
2. I`m not trying to convince that you my ways are right. I`m trying to convince you that you are narrowminded.
3. You obviously do care about fetishes, otherwise you wouldn`t be so obsessed with convincing everyone that they are a bad thing.
4. I will agree with you on one point, that "we are not at the same educational level". You are clearly correct on that point! Your lack of logic, clear argument, and not to mention spelling and grammatical prowess (I`m still not sure what a friction book is, though you brought it up twice) lead me to believe that your intellect is not nearly as superior as you have led yourself to believe.
5. Notice the 3 or more capitalized "I DON`T CARE" statements plugged into your extensive response? Clearly, if you didn`t care, then you wouldn`t feel the need to justify yourself. Not that you really did justify yourself because your arguments are all contradictory, subject to interpretation and incoherent. Did you not say a few messages ago that a fetish is a disease? Now you`re saying that it`s a mental disorder, not a disease. The medical field doesn`t leave room for opinion, and then essentially go on to defend yourself because you are entitled to an opinion.
6. I still find it very interesting that you have such a conceited view of your mystery job. And not just in terms of your constant reference to your academic and occupational superiority, but also your endless assumption that anyone who disagrees with you must have a much inferior position. Did Biff ever state that he worked in the ever elusive Medical Field? No. Then you proceed to state that he must only be a receptionist in The Medical Field or a janitor in The Medical Field. Your manner leads me to seriously question the elusiveness of your occupation. Why? Because you will say everything to make people assume that you are only the godliest of vascular neurosurgeon/cancer researchers, but refuse to admit to what you do. If you have such "extensive" education, then try me. You make yourself look like a bigger phony by not admitting to anything than by listing your credentials. There are ways of testing the validity of credentials, but "I am supersmart and oohhh so helpful to humanity and way better than you but I can`t tell you what I do because you wouldn`t believe me" really does not flatter you.

Essentially, through this debate I have determined my own impression of just what it is that you do, since you have not been so kind as to enlighten us. I have come to the conclusion that if you are any form of an allopathic doctor that your internet skills are clearly misrepresentative of your real personality, because generally to get into medical school you generally need to be able to formulate rational arguments and clearly comprehend those of others. Not to mention your clear disregard for the multiple effects of diseases, like the beneficial effects of cystic fibrosis, lead me to question whether your "education" comes merely from an internet search on the topic at hand. Also your use of the term "black and white" in description of the psychological field illustrates your ignorance or conceptual incompetence. I don`t think I will be the one of whom the psychologists "have [my] number".

Which leads me to question, what exactly IS Diane`s position in the oftmentioned Medical Field? Obviously, you tend to think of yourself as high and mighty, such that you necessitate reference to your illustrius occupation in every conversation even remotely related to health issues. But you`re ashamed to come out and state your profession, and don`t deny that. However, you also think of yourself as beyond those apparently worthless "idiots" (to which you allude) who clean the floors and work reception. So I`m fairly certain that you, Diane, must be a nurse or homeopath, or other health practitioner (dentist, chiropractor, etc). Believe me, you don`t come across as the type who would care if others didn`t believe you, if you had a flashy resume to promote.

Given the small chance that you are in fact "superior" to these professions (and your superiority complex is really the only reason why this would seem possible) then I ask myself, what medical school let you in?? Well, yes, I do understand that those Carribbean schools have lower standards if you have the cash.. Your self-obsessed, illogical writing style leads me to wonder how you would have ever done well on an MCAT. I mean, you have come out with such incomprehensible gems as, "Secondly itwas Biff who accused me of being antifetish and anticutting plus also accuse me that I basically had no heart and probably only works as a receptionist." Yes, okay, fine.

You are entitled to your own opinion, Diane. That is absolutely true, and no one wants to take that right from you. But don`t abuse some apparent superiority which you won`t even describe, in order to tell others that yours is the only correct information. And finally, don`t insult the intelligence of others, when your own intellect is clearly on vacation somewhere.

Yes, Diane, I must obviously be Biff for defending his point of view.

Apparently it`s enough of a fluke for anyone to disagree with your all-knowing opinion, but having two people disagree is impossible.

1. When you have such immature debating skills, it`s hard not to want to defend/agree with your victim because of your childish words. What childishness you ask? a) suggesting your debator should be ignored because he raises a valid opinion you do not want to accept. b) suggesting your debator lusts after you because he has seen your posts on different boards. Thus, he MUST be following you. Excuse me for coming to this conclusion, but I definitely remember seeing any posts you`ve made because they`re generally ridiculous to the point of hilarity. And by ridiculous, I mean ignorant and ill-thought. c) A debate is a debate. If you confined the discussion to professionalism, rather than personally attacking your peers, then no one would personally attack you, and we would be left with a healthy, enlightening discussion. But because you come up with ridiculous thoughts and conclusions about those around you, you leave no choice but for them to attack back.

Do you ever really realize how immature your debating tactics come across? Let`s try it, shall we. I think that Diane and Wolfgang are the same person because they both agree. Let`s totally ignore that they have different views on most ideas, they post at completely different times of the day, and have totally different syntactic and grammatical styles. Oh, that`s all pretense! In fact, let`s ignore Diane because she`s stating opinions that I don`t like. In case you don`t understand subtlety, which I have noticed in your case quite often, that was not serious, but a mere impression of your conversational skills. However, I would be more inclined to ignore you for the sheer lack of intellect in your debate. However, the reason I am so drawn is because you provide for amusement!! Much like the letters section of People Magazine, or the intellectual depth of the Toronto Sun, I read your posts for the sheer entertainment value. And by entertainment, I mean comedy.
