Most of the womenfolk I know of, prefer men clean-shaven.
For a guy who hasn`t shave for two days in a row and hasn`t invested in a beard trimmer, it "hurts very much" trying to get rid of all those bristles with a razor.
Shaving every other day is tolerable but some employers don`t like their employees arriving with designer stubble.
On the other hand, there are some professions which do require guys to grow beards. Certain military regiments make it a mandatory requirement.

A statistic I read the other day says that 90% of men shave once a day or something like this. I am surprised at the low number of beards around. What motivates so many guys to submit to the discipline of a razor when it`s so much easier to have a beard? One less thing to worry about. And beards can be so lovely.
