I`ve had my hair set before. I`ve grown my hair long over the past two years. I told my stylist that I wanted to see how my hair would look with some curls. It was no big deal. She blow-dryed my hair most of the way, then set my hair on velcro rollers.
I`ve also had my hair set at a long-hair salon (common practice there).
I`d wait until your hair is a little longer. But don`t worry about it. Do you have a regular stylist or do you get a new one each time you get it cut?

I recently had my hair highlighted, now I would like to try having my hair set in perm rods, but using setting lotion instead of perm lotion. How long does my hair need to be, right now it is about an 1 inch to 1-1/2" inches on top. I would like to do it next month, my hair should be longer by then. Should I feel nervous about having it done at the salon. Its a very busy salon. How should I ask? Will the stylist usually try to work me in at the end of the day, preferrably last appoinment. Please respond with any advice or experiences.
