I've read that many guys with shorter hair that tends to grow out instead of stay flat should relax their hair. I just have some questions:

How long will it last?

Is it safe to relax dyed hair? (Dyed it brown about 6 weeks ago)

Would it be better if I went to a professional salon than to do it myself? I've read that if you don't wash all of it out then your hair will start to break off. :-/

That's it for now I guess, I'll post more later. I was thinking about just walking to my local drugstore to get a relaxer, but it would be so odd for a guy to be walking in the beauty aisle, and purchasing some hair relaxer. :-/ Meh.

Edit: Accidentally hit the submit button twice or something... woops.

relaxed hair last until it grows out

you cannot relaxed coloured hair becoz relaxers will ruined the colour. you will end up with orange hair.

you can do it yourself but you must know what you are doing. hairboutique has many articles on DIY hair relaxing.

i know how you feel. it feels weird but the saleslady are nice, usually.

Well my hair is relaxed and depending what kind of dye you are seeking, you can dye it. I would consult with a professional so you don't make any mistakes. Take care.

Here is an article explaining hair relaxers, how they work, why dyeing your hair may be problematic mixed with, etc.
