I'm having a similar problem. Even though I've been dyeing my hair off and on for half my life, recently I've been having a reaction not every time I dye, but sometimes. I can't predict which times I'll get the stinging pain and headaches from it and which ones I won't. I'm thinking, at least in my case, it might be a developing allergy to peroxide, since sometimes cleansing cuts with that makes them worse instead of better.
I have used semi-permanent colour on my hair before and it was fine, I have also used permanent and that was fine but last night I tried another semi-permanent colour and straight away I felt stinging on my head. I assumed I was allergic to this dye so I washed it off straight away. Is it possible that it is just the particular brand I used? Thanks. Also, can anyone reccomend semi-permanent which is quite gentle?
