Hi everyone. I need some help! For Halloween, my costume requires red hair. There is NO way I want my natural medium brown hair to stay fire engine red forever, so I just want a non-damaging, rinse-out, VERY temporary red color. Can I get some suggestions on products to use and where to get them? Thanks all!

Hi Lyris the only thing I can think of ...temporary...

Goldwell and Schwartzkof(sp) make a color mousse
shiny and pretty easy to use.

I would recommend 6K in the Goldwell and I'm not as familiar with the Schwartzkof colors.

But anyway you would shampoo normally and apply the color mousse to damp hair. It's pretty easy to distribute.

Cheers Daaarrrling.
Why not just have the Redken Shades put on your hair.....there is a spectacular copper red. 6 level 6A, I believe. It's super shiny does'nt damage your hair and will wash out in about 6 weeks. Could be fun

Maybe the Hot Topic kind of dyes might work all right. You have to bleach if you want it to show up like crayon red, but if you put it on darker hair it'll just make a tint. If your hair is all-natural it shouldn't stick long, but if you've dyed your hair in the past it might stay a while, although it will fade to a less conspicuous red fairly quickly.
More awesome than a manatee!

Thanks for all the pointers ladies. After considering all options, I think I'm going to wimp out and not go red after all. Honestly, I really *hate* red on me and it's only one night; I don't want to risk being stuck with an awful color for more than 24 hours. I appreciate all your suggestions!

pick up a box of clairol natural instincs in Indian Poppy. its a beautiful red that will fade out after so many shampoos so you dont have to worry about it being too bright for awhile.
