QuoteReplyTopic: Blonde Hair that looks...weird Posted: September 10 2004 at 1:42pm
Just a random rant - has anyone else experienced a "weird" looking blonde? I have a combination of high and low-lights. It just looks strange to me, not at all how it used to look (I've had my hair highlighted in the past and it was always very pretty). Anyway, I notice this mostly in fluorescent light. Very dull and dingy looking. I would call it dishwater blonde. I have to force myself not to look or else I get all upset.
I'm thinking in a couple of weeks the color may improve, or I'll just get used to it - LOL. But has anyone experienced this? Or am I completely obsessing over something dumb?

My hair has never been a normal blonde :-P . For a while in high school my hair was kinda wheat- or golden-blonde, which was, er, actually the result of peroxide and sitting out under the sun every morning while waiting for class to start. . . not very recommended. . . And several years ago my hair was strawberry-blonde when I tried to use a store-bought lightening kit to pre-bleach my hair in hopes I could dye it blue. The strawberry only lasted like a day before I tried the blue. . . and then it looked green. . . *falls over* And then there was that horrible disaster when I used a highlighting kit to try to do blonde streaks, and they came out orange with like an inch or two of white at the roots. . . By now, if my hair ever went a normal shade of blonde, I'd probably die of shock :-P .
More awesome than a manatee!

Oh man, sounds like you've had your share of hair horrors!!! Alright, I don't feel so bad anymore. I was going to call my stylist up and ask her just to cover the highlights. But I've had way too much done to my hair in the recent past. I think doing anymore to it at this point would just be BAD. Looks like I'm going to have to live with it!
