I recently decided to save money by doing my hair at home, so I bought the Loreal color where you color all over and then add highlights. It actually turned out better than I expected, but I should have used two boxes because I didn't have enough of the all over color to cover completely. Anyway, I waited about two months and decided just to do an all over color, I used Feria and now, my roots are the color on the box, caramel kiss, but the rest of my hair is a little darker. Except for the lighter parts that didn't get colored last time, they are a grayish purple color. Does anyone have any advice? I can't afford to pay too much to correct this, and it really doesn't look as bad as it sounds, but it is bugging me.

If you don't mind living with it for a couple of weeks, it will fade. The good news is that dark colours get warmer as they fade (Feria tends to be especially warm) -- so you'll lose that purplish colour. If you want to get it to fade faster, you could give it a scrub with Dawn or Liquid Tide (without bleach). I've also heard that olive oil can help to fade your colour (as well as softening your hair). In the meantime, you could also consider getting something like Fanciful rinse or mousse in a warm shade. Some of the shampoos designed for copper or red tones (the ones that add a boost of colour) might help too. Good luck. :-)

Those are good ideas. If you choose to try a colored pigment depositing shampoo (like Complements),try choosing a yellow colored one. It should help counteract the purple (making it a brown shade) and warm up the gray a little as you're waiting for it to wash out.
