Hope someone has some suggestions on what I can do. My hair is above shoulder length, a straight bob style, and from the roots to halfway down it is medium-dark brown (my natural color). The bottom half of the length is boldly highlighted. I have some strands of gray hair throughout my brown hair. Actually, that was the reason I had my hair highlighted to begin with. I was tired of coloring it with semi-permanent and permanent coloring. What would be my best option to make the two shades of hair less noticeable or blend together where it is not so noticeable that it is two different shades? What is the best choice to try and disguise the gray in my brown hair once all of the highlighted part if cut off? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Sherri
Since you keep such a short style, it won't be too long before your highlights grow out. So, you can either go to a salon and get your hair dyed your natural color so that when it grows out next time you don't get the roots (depending on how much gray is in there...if it's a lot, you probably don't want to do that because you'll still get gray roots).
Or, you can try a color depositing shampoo. You can buy them at beauty supply shops. They cost about 5 bucks a bottle, and look opaque like paint. They just put colored pigment over your hair and don't damage it. To get a lot of color, use it every time you shampoo and don't condition afterwards (the bottle says use it every other shampoo, but this won't really cover your highlights, using it every time will). Complements makes some in ash brown, and orange red. So if your hair is naturally ash brown, that one would do it - if your hair has a little more golden or reddish tones in the brown, you may want to use the orange red one with the brown to more closely mimic your natural color.
