Do you have a wig store near you so you can try some on and see if they flatter you? Do you have any cloth that matches the hair color you would like to have, to drape that over your head and see how your skin looks with it?
I'm more of a yellowy person with yellow hair, and I can't go ash colors at all or I look terrible, but I don't know about the opposite direction. That's why I'd try to find out before I dyed it and got stuck with it.

My hair is pretty ashy medium brown (as in, when I compare my natural colour to hairdye swatches, it has a fairly greenish tone).
I know that the best colours for me are ashy tones, brown blonde, etc.
But does this rule out red for me (except in small doses)? I am a huge fan of red hair, and used to always do a level 2 semi-permanent hairdye in a subtle auburn to good results. I love copper reds, but I'm worried that my ruddy complexion rules out any chance I have of going red.
