well, hubs decided he's gonna give me the cash to do it at a salon because he doesn't want to deal with the reprecussions of me messing my hair up haha. I'm thinking maybe adding black tips into the equasion..not sure, gonna hash it out w/my girl sometime this week. I'm going for a short in the back long in the front w/lil girl bangs bob (It's my signature cut haha).
If you do it at home, try colorfix instead of bleach first. It may remove enough of the black to give you an orange or yellow color with less damage than bleach would give you. Like I say, it'll come out orange or yellow so you'll have to dye red over it. A salon may be the safer choice.

I've been dying my hair for about 10 years or so, only have bleached small areas for some fun colors (just about every color possible including an accidental seafoam green). Now i'm looking for an extreme red color..slightly like Jennifer Garner in Ailias...I'm nervous about bleaching all over (never done it before) and am debating whether or not to do it at home or the salon, i'm looking for un natural red, preferably w/no orange tones or copper tones cuz they make my skin look wierd. Just wondering how to go about getting what I want and not frying my hair (it's fairly healthy right now, even with the repeated blue/black dying). It's been a year and a half since i've used any bleach :). ANy tips or suggestions would be appreciated, the reason i'm looking to do this at home is because I suspect that one would have a hard time finding that bright vibrant non blonde/non aburn red in a salon.
