I've found a painless way to remove Great Lengths myself, and thought I'd share... Assming Everclear alcohol is illegal where you live (which it most likely is), buy a bottle of Rubbing Alcohol from the drugstore ($2-$3). Look at the label and make sure it's around 95% ethanol. Everclear alcohol is anywhere from 151-proof to around 180-proof, meaning anywhere from 80%-90-something % pure alcohol. ETHANOL, on the same hand, is the alcohol which is in your alcoholic beverages, so it does essentially the same thing.
Rather than wetting all the bonds individually and then breaking them with the pliers (very, very time consuming, you're looking at several hours!), I found that if I soaked all my bonds, and left them until the next day, they would slide right out with just one squeeze of the pliers.
Again, make sure you try your hardest to use the alcohol ONLY on the bonds-- it's very drying on your hair. A hot oil treatment afterwards would probably be a good idea.
Soak your entire head in the most powerful booze you can find (illegal in some areas) or dip your head in rubbing alcohol and let it saturate for 24 hours...
Stop me when I get to the part where your hair starts to become ruined...

No, you misunderstood. Moisten the BONDS in alcohol, the BONDS, not your head. Come on now...
Alcohol evaporates exceptionally quick, leaving the bonds dry and rather brittle. Wait about 24 hours, dampen them again (cotton balls work well), crack them with the pliers, and they slide right out.
You know amn- "no disrepect" but it seems like you have an Anger problem- most of your replies seem to come off with an attitude. Are you having a problem with your extensions? Need help with your extensions? Thats what this board is about. This board is for everyone to gain knowledge, share knowledge and help oneanother. So far, some of your posts seem to tear people or put people down. I dont know about you, but i am not on this board to hurt people. Only help if i can....
Another great tip for removing both GL and extensions held in with microlinks is to wash and condition with all those creamy slippery things the stylist told you not to use because it would loosen the bonds.
Leave-In conditioners are your best friend when it's time for removal. With any luck you'll lose a good number of them without any effort at all.
Also, the matting that concerned me enough to take them out-- It's no big deal, it honestly is not as bad as it seems. It's mostly the extension hair, and will come right out with a little conditioner as soon as the extensions are gone.
to go along with the leaving the alcohol on your head- i do the same but take it one step further -get a box of all purpose metal clips (the small ones sallys has them) a bowl and a lot of cotton balls.... put conditioner on all your hair from below the bonds down...dip the cotton ball in the alcohol solution take a few bonds from one area wrap the cotton ball around it and clip it there and leave it for a few hours... alcohol does dry quickly so if you saturate a cotton ball instead of just putting it on your hair it holds it there longer- btw most hair products like conditioner already have alcohol in it so how bad could it be??? after just was and deep cond or oil treatment your hair- perming and color is way harsher- alcohol just removes the oil so make sure to replace it smiles cathy ps with a squeeze or two of the pliers after this they slide out super easy
I spoke with someone from GLS and she told me , a week or two before removing them start washing with anti-dandruff shampoos this will pretty much distroy the bonds and removal should be a breeze! I never did this because they come out really easy but for those of you who have a problem, maybe you shoild try this???

How'd I miss this?
Rubbing alcohol is 70% isopropyl alcohol, which is highly toxic. At the concentration of Everclear and for this use, ethanol would be toxic, too. You will probably inhale most of what you apply to the bonds. As it wets your hair, the surface area causes it to more rapidy evaporate.
Neither alcohol will be anywhere near as effective at dissolving glue as either acetone alone or an acetone product that contains other ingredients to make it stay on the bonds where you put it.
Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

this is true , although they are not talking about removing glue. GLS is not glue go to the website and check it out. thats why actone is not good for them it is great for regular fusion bonds.
i read somewhere that about a week before you are getting them removed to shampoo with dandruff shampoo- i guess something in it causes it to break down the bonds.
