Yet another ? from me. Has anyone out there done the sewn in type on Caucasian hair? How bad is it? I have healthy hair but it does not grow as fast as I would like it to and was thinking about having this done. I guess it would be a track braid with my extensions sewn onto it. I would only need about 3 tracks on the bottom. I have wavy Italian hair.

Do you mean sewing in a weft or individual strands?

OMG yes and I couldn't take it. This was a couple years ago and my first time wearing anything in my hair. I am the type that can barely stand a barrett in my hair. I went nuts the first night and by the second night I was insane. I had them removed immediately.

I don't know what the deal was. Maybe they were too tight or I was too sensitive. It was sensory overload for me, though, and I couldn't stand it.

Ok im letten u no.. tracks are not for white people. and i can say that because im up in the braiding world theres not a style i couldnt braid up i do a lot of black peoples weaves and its not the same as white peoples weaves. for 1 white people are used to washing there hare. when u have tracks u are not to wash your hair. and if u must u have to go to the shop and have them do it. then u have to sit under the drier for well about 1 and 30 min. the reason for this is that if its wet it will slip out of the braid.. thats just one uge part theres many more.. if that dosnt bother u then u can dwell on the smell if u let water get in there it will stink so so bad.. other then that when your boyfriend touches your head hell feel a big huge lump in the back of your head. some of my clients like it because it does helo the hair grow.. but i see them every single week and i charge them every single time its very expensive.. if u can have it washed every week its ok i guess i like other methods though.. for white peoples hair..

oh yeah. i need to echo the above. i'm a white girl who had a not white girl do my extensions once...and holy heck did it hurt. the woman who did it was the one who screwed my hair up enough to NEED them in the first place.

don't get me wrong, she did a wonderful job. but maaaaaaaaaaaan, caucasian heads should not go down that path. looked good, felt like hell. ooooo weeee never again.

well, i'm caucasian and i done my sisters weave about 3 times now, the last time i done it was just 2 nights ago, the tracks i done were comfortable and she loves them, there is no bump what so ever and they're secure but don't pull.
Now she has beautiful long straight blonde hair, although the colour of the weave isn't the exact same blonde as her real hair (which she didn't want) it looks great with two different tones of blonde!
anyway i do my own cornrows all the time and they look the nuts!

u must have used very small tracks. and her hair must be very thin.. Trust me Ive been doing hair for a long time im very in to fashion i work at a very nice salon i do a lot of blk hair and a lot of white hair.. braiding weaves do not last on most white hair.,.. its a good temp fix but that stuff wont last. in the fashion world u can always tell if someone has a track weave.. theres better ways out there..

Kris, Thanks so much for writing because I was just about to buy hair wefts to have this done. Well, back to the board to figure out what I want to do. I want to go much longer and maybe the shrinkie method will be the best for me. I have never done that before though and not sure how to do it on myself. I need to move to CA and have Cal. Kristen or Amm help me but thats a long way from NJ. Road Trip!!!
