Getting my license? No, I've never given it any serious thought. I love reading about extensions and learning about different techniques, but it's really more of a hobby for me. I'm far better at researching this sort of thing than I am at actually doing it. It's a lot of responsibility doing other people's hair; I can barely figure out my own, believe me!

Before I started wearing extensions and pieces, I really wasn't very interested in hair at all, to tell you the truth. My own hair is very limiting, so I always wore it in basically the same way and the same color. I was much more interested in makeup. But once I discovered extensions--even though I've been through a lot of nightmare experiences with them--I became fascinated with hair for the first time, really. All of a sudden, things were possible that weren't before, so I've become rather obsessed... :)

i know there are different ways to do them but the way i used to do it was to cornrow in a spiral then put the wrap on the head and sew the weft onto the rows.

the T-closer is awesome for speed. doesnt move well though.
jenny, have you ever considered getting your license?

with full headed weaves, I've seen them done with your natural hair in a wrap, then neck strips over that, then a booty cover over that, and then you just go in a circle around your head with the weave, bonded of course.

if you lay the weave horizontal, you have to brush back your bangs to cover the top track, I seen this done with more coarse hair...
It is what it is...

Samantha,

Have you ever used a T-closer (or weave closer): http://www.hairpiece.com/product.asp?pf_id=APE510%5F1
As I understand it, these are used to conceal the cornrows on the top of the head from weaves.

I dont get invloved in stuff like this but this time Im going to have my say.

I appreciate Kristin for her business experience and I appreciate Amm for her DIY experience. Its very refreshing to get both sides of the hair extension issue. Yes their veterans on here and the reason is because they know so much and are so willing to part with that knowledge. Ive been on other boards where people are not as nice or knowledgeable and Im glad I came across this board.

There Im done, thank you, now back to the thread...lol

Em

PS: If you dont have the guts to register, your opinion dosnt mean much.

Umm.. what you going on about? I'm only asking because there are alot of experienced people on here that are really helpful... anywayzzz...

i'm on about the full coverage weave. I tried doing cornrows on a dummies head that go straight back.. and sewed on the weave horizontally.. it came out fine it's just the very top (the parting) you can really see it!

back on the subject -

when you mean a full headed weave, do you mean an integration weave, or full coverage weave?

(edited because "subject" doesnt have a "n" in it)

Please...I'm not even in the hair business (not that AMM is either). As far as I'm concerned, they can bring it on!

I think your "jealous competitor" theory is right, by the way. A few of us already know who "Kim" is, and if she shows up again, make no mistake, we'll call her out on it. It could be a tad embarassing for a professional stylist to be caught acting like a jealous child online, but if that's what she wants, so be it!
