First off, I'd like to point Kim out to Kristin's web page. http://www.haircandy.net -- Have you bought any of her fun colors, Kim? They're really great. Heh. Now F.O., darling.
The color is 18/22 for those who're keeping score of hair colors & such. I'd like to add that this hair can be quite unruly if you don't whip it into submission and keep it tame. I have had no tangling or matting with this hair and it's extremely shiny. This is my second order. I have a darker #12 as the underlayer color.
Hope this helps you assess the hair and what it can do. (edit: all the pictures except for #1, the hair is now installed via strand by strand method. Picture #2 is the hair after it's air dried with absolutely no manipulation. It was not fingercombed and there is no product on it.)
That's awesome, AMM. Do you usually wear your hair wavy or straighter? I think what I mean to ask is, do you find it easier to coax the curl out of the hair or to just straighten it? Just curious. Thanks again for the pics!:)
Hey Bridget - that's human hair. I've never worn synth. Yet.
Jenny - I sleep with it in a damp braid saturated with spray-in conditioners and a coating of TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream. After I wake up, I take the braid out and let it air dry while I do other things. I'm left with some pretty smooth waves. I usually just curl the ends with an iron. Those soft waves last for days.
Amm, are you talking about me Kim? If so I already bought some dark red from Kristen and should be getting them any day now (thanks for thinking about me though). I just love her new page and her work; I so wished she lived near me.
We had this loser troller calling herself "Kim" last night, and she was really mean to Kristin (hence the FO, comment--it was totally not directed at you)....
LOL - I get it now! I was wondering what the F.O. meant? I thought she was refering to "or Your Information"or something "Duh" I'll get with it someday.

I just ordered some hair for myself just like yours Amm because the curl is exactly like mine. I ordered #4 (med. brown) and have it Quick Ship because I need new hair BAD!!! I am also going to try the Track Braid method with sewing a weft on a braid. I spoke to two different Weave specialist today and they both said if done correctly the braid will last . I going to a salon which did my sisters hair when she was into cornrows and they did a fantastic job. I will post before and after pictures BTW I got my microlinks in the mail and I was thinking they were alot bigger. Talk about MICRO!. I don't know how you girls do this type of system by yourself because I do not have the patience. The only thing that I will micro in my hair will be the colors from Kristen - that is all I can handle for now. Just wondering, how many of these microlinks are used for one row? 30? 40?
Did you get the hand-tied weft? My god, if you did, you will love the delicate strand. It's almost not even there it's so thin. It's one of the best hand-tied wefts I've ever seen.
And, yeah, just use those microlinks for the color strands. That's perfect because you can take them in and out whenever you want. Those strand tips fit beautifully in the XS rings.
And yes yes, post pics. I'd love to see more pics here.
Yes, I bought the hand tied weft. I hope the 1/4 pound is enough to do 2 - 3 tracks on the bottom for length. My hair is 2-3 inches below shoulder length and the hair only came in 22 inches. What do you think?
Oh good! I mean, look at the gorgeous weft on this hair...
This is my hair. It's the same thing you'll get.
I think you're going to be really happy. Like I said, the hair can be on the wild and unruly side. With the right products and some TLC, you're going to have the coolest hair ever.
The hair will arrive in about 5 or 6 different pieces. This is fabulous because you don't have to cut it. Don't ever cut the weft cuz it will unravel. The reason it's in all the pieces is so you can attach it easily. You'll see! I'm excited for you.
Know what, Kris, I really don't know. I haven't had anything to do with sew-ins for about 5 years so I'm not experienced in them at all.
I do know these micro hand-tied wefts are stronger than machine wefts and they are unbelievably thin. The picture really doesn't do it justice. I'm to assume by their thin diameter, they'll feel great and conceal better.
A 4 oz package of hand-tied micro wefts shouldn't be one long continuous weft. The idea is to get 5 or 6 of them because you should never cut them.
Amm, I am sooooooo excited too . Thanks again for all of your info. and your hair is just beautiful especially the way you have it presented on your head; you really do a fantastic job. How to I keep my hair under control? Could you give me some products you use? I know you sleep with some leave in while your hair is in a braid. Will Redken anti snap do the job? I use Redken extrem to wash my hair and Nexus Kerafix (something like that) for my cond. then use the leave in and then anti-frizz serum. This Friday at 10:00 AM is my appt. time. I also received my Dark Red from Kristen today and the hair is so pretty. I can't wait to put them in also
I don't know everything AMM does with her hair, but she does do this:
"I sleep with it in a damp braid saturated with spray-in conditioners and a coating of TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream. After I wake up, I take the braid out and let it air dry while I do other things. I'm left with some pretty smooth waves. I usually just curl the ends with an iron. Those soft waves last for days."
Right under this post there is a little blue button with the words "board mail." Click on that and I'd be more than happy to send ya a list of products I use and how I've been caring for this hair.
