We're all going to have different opinions on this, I'm sure, but pinchbraids (assuming they're done properly) are definitely the safest method I've used on my entire head.

I had major damage with fusion and hairlocs. I've used microrings (extendtubes) for streaks, and they're pretty good, but I still don't think they're as safe as pinchbraids. I've only tested the shrinkies and they seem safe so far, but I haven't done an entire head yet. (All of these were strand-by-strand applications; I've never used wefts.)

The great thing about pinchbraids is that there's no glue, heat, or metal involved. The disadvantage is that the braids are more bulky than the rings and more visible than the shrinkies. Also, it's a hard method to master; there are online tutorials to help, but it takes a lot more practice to get it right than microrings or shrinkies.

Just my two cents...

:)

Sure. Here's the link to Rae's pinchbraiding tutorial: http://www.hairalchemy.com/tutorial/index.html

Sometimes, it's referred to as the HairPolice method (or microbraids, although that term is also used to describe slightly different braiding techniques as well).

Good luck! :)
